This tape is characterized by its general purpose functionality and is particularly noted for its excellent temperature and pressure resistance. It has an increased tack for secure adhesion yet can be easily removed without leaving any residue, making it ideal for various applications.
The tape is a multi-purpose, translucent polyester film, 0.001 inches thick, coated with a 0.0015 inches thick fully cured silicone adhesive. It is specially designed for masking operations where no residue can be tolerated, making it perfect for holding release films and fabrics, bleeders, and breathers, as well as metal and composite details in place during pre-fit and pre-bond operations. It is highly effective for long-term exposure to temperatures over 350°F and can be used up to a maximum temperature of 400°F (204°C).
In addition to its technical attributes, Flashtape 1 offers practical benefits. It helps control bond lines and simplifies the removal of resin flash, reducing the need for extensive cleanup. The tape can be used to fix the position of consumable materials, thereby avoiding process errors and enhancing the quality of the final product.
