Crystic Solution MW is a solution of paraffin waxes in a mixture of white spirit and styrene. When added to gelcoat at 2% this inhibits air, thus reducing surface tack without affecting cure.
It is commonly used as an additive to gelcoat for external applications, for example on boat hulls or flat roofs.
Crystic Solution MW should be added at 1% to 2% by weight to the unsaturated polyester resin, and stirred well with a low shear mixer, or by hand.
