This paper rope is reinforced with a wire core for ease of bending and holding shape. It can be overlaid with resin and fibreglass and used as a former to create strengthening ribs for GRP moulds and parts.
The paper rope can also be used for prop making . The addition of a stiff wire makes it the perfect choice for undergrowth, foliage and making branches. it can also be bound together using fibreglass tape and resin. Further strength can be added, where needed, by binding the paper rope to aluminium armature wire.
A piece of wired paper rope will generally support its own weight over about 2 - 3 ft before drooping.
