When using Epoxy Resin you must use Powder Bound matting as they is no Styrene content in Epoxy Resins, therefore it cannot break down the binder in Emulsion bound matting.
Powder Bound chopped strand matt is made from E-glass chopped strands, held together by a powder binder. It is specially designed for very easy impregnation and good translucency. Suitable for use with vinyl ester and epoxy resin systems.
Powder bonded mats have high surface integrity, good dry strength for handling (even when wet) and promote rapid wet-out in resins. They also provide excellent laminate properties including corrosion and blister resistance. Typical end uses include marine, consumer and recreation, construction, corrosion resistant and transportation applications.
