Information

ENCORE 30 Clear Polyester Resin Lloyd's Approved is a general-purpose, hand-laminating polyester resin that meets the stringent standards of Lloyd’s Register of Shipping. Designed to maintain low styrene emissions, this resin offers a safer and more comfortable working environment. Its opaque pink-purple appearance is characteristic of its formulation, making it easily identifiable during application. This orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin is thixotropic and pre-accelerated, ensuring ease of use and efficient processing.

Applications

1. Boat Building: Perfect for constructing and repairing boats, given its Lloyd’s Register of Shipping approval.
2. Flat Roofing: Suitable for GRP flat roofing applications due to its strong adhesion and durability.
3. General Laminating: Ideal for the general laminating of glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) parts in various industrial and non-critical applications.
4. Industrial Parts: Used in the fabrication of industrial components where robust and reliable materials are essential.

Benefits

1. Low Styrene Emission: Formulated to reduce styrene emissions significantly, enhancing worker safety and comfort in the workplace.
2. Lloyd’s Register Approval: Official approval from Lloyd’s Register of Shipping ensures the resin meets high-quality standards for marine applications.
3. Thixotropic Properties: The thixotropic nature of the resin prevents sagging, making it ideal for vertical and overhead applications.
4. Pre-accelerated Formulation: Simplifies the application process by reducing the need for additional accelerators, ensuring consistent and reliable curing.
5. Low Reactivity: The low reactivity of the resin allows for extended working times, providing flexibility during the application process.
6. Durable and Reliable: Offers excellent mechanical properties, including high tensile and flexural strength, ensuring the longevity and performance of the final product.

Storage and Handling

- Storage Conditions: Store in a shaded area away from direct sunlight, in sealed containers at temperatures below 30°C.
- Shelf Life: The resin has a shelf life of 3 months after delivery if stored correctly. For best results, use within the specified shelf life.
- Handling Precautions: Ensure proper handling procedures as outlined in the safety data sheet. Use appropriate personal protective equipment and work in a well-ventilated area.
